As fans of a seasonal tablescape , Penelope Chilvers’ debut homeware collection has us planning this summer’s al fresco dinner parties already. Made in Portugal from 100 per cent washed linen, the romantic, floral-printed napkins and tablecloths in fuchsia pink and ocean blue evoke the hot, heady days of summer and long, drawn-out afternoons that flow freely into balmy evenings. We can already smell the roses.

For its high summer 2022 offering, Shrimps has reimagined its popular Dax party dress in a pastel pink print inspired by Gauguin’s Tahitian painting. We never expected to be lusting over flatware but French silversmith Christofle has us doing just that with its new signature Infini line. Since its launch in 2012, Palmer//Harding has come to be synonymous with the shirt, or rather its reinvention. Showing that you can, in fact, improve on a classic, Mad Paris takes preloved fine watches and ups the ante with DLC (that’s diamond-like coating) finishes, diamonds and precious gemstones. A slightly less ostentatious design than we’re used to from the brand, this customised Rolex Daytona features a matte black coating, Oyster-style bracelet and tonal bezel with a tachymetric speed scale.

Nobody does opulence quite like Valentino. Reissued from its Spring/Summer 2000 archives, the Divine clutch is a true Noughties throwback. We can’t think of a better way to spend a fresh spring morning than wrapped up in this cosy Brunello Cucinelli cardigan, sipping a coffee and getting stuck into a good book. If you’re anything like us, you’ll already have this summer’s festival plans well and truly sorted: it’s now just a question of getting your gear in order. With summer holiday planning well underway, it's time to think about what you’ll be wearing. Thankfully, luxury retailer Net-A-Porter has partnered with Jacquemus to release an exclusive summer capsule exuding the fresh, youthful spirit the brand is so well known for. The 23-piece collection comprises a curation of the brand’s signature designs – including the Lagoa maxi dress, Le Bob Gadjo bucket hat and cult Le Chiquito bag – reworked in vibrant, Palm Springs-inspired mint green and saccharine pink. London-based jeweller Jessie Thomas expands on the themes of fluidity and movement seen in her previous collections with her new spring offering, Cluster. Featuring 18ct gold, scattered with clusters of sparkling diamonds in unique scallop and pin settings and undulating curves, the capsule celebrates Thomas’s love of texture, contrasting delicate ear cuffs with wavy polished-gold rings and serpent-like necklaces. Hand-crafted in the Chelsea studio Thomas shares with her father – renowned goldsmith David Thomas – from 100 per cent recycled gold and sustainably sourced precious gemstones and diamonds, the collection comprises stunning, wearable classics with surprising twists that are sure to raise the question: where did you get that?

While we’ve all grown accustomed to seeing collaborations take over the fashion landscape, we did not see a partnership between Ahluwalia and Paul Smith coming. The inaugural collection from the latter’s &Paul Smith initiative, which aims to assist young designers in growing their business, sees the menswear maverick team up with the newgen designer for a 14-piece capsule that speaks to the sensibilities of each designer without looking like a poorly-assembled collage. This wool work jacket, created using Smith’s decade-old fabrics, is imbued with Ahluwalia’s signature cool via exposed seams and contrast panelling. Cut with a relaxed fit, it strikes the perfect balance of smart-casual and exemplifies the stylish, easygoing attitude we have come to expect from both brands.

Channel Jane Birkin with Nanushka’s luxe take on the iconic wicker basket bag. Woven in Italy from upcycled vegan leather and a two-tone melange knit, with two woven handles and a detachable shoulder strap, this sweet, Seventies-style bag features an open basket design big enough for all your essentials. Jonathan Anderson’s playful Dadaist shoes – featuring birthday candles, bars of soap and crushed roses in place of heels – stole the show at Loewe’s Spring Summer 2022 show late last year and we’ve been keenly awaiting their arrival on shelves ever since. Whimsical enough to dress down a well-tailored suit, yet sufficiently smart for amping up a white-tee-and-jeans look, these otherwise simple, strappy, open-toed sandals have had their heels replaced with bottles of crimson nail polish. And while you may not be able to use said polish to match your nails to your heels, you certainly can go for it with a bright red lip .

Though al fresco dining may be more of a choice than a necessary evil this summer, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t splash out on some seriously chic picnic gear to make it that much more enjoyable. Japanese brand Sacai has partnered with renowned ceramics maison Astier de Villatte to create this woven raffia hamper complete with jacquard picnic blanket and tableware for two.

Take to the streets in style this spring on Piaggio’s electric scooter, created in collaboration with Chinese-born London-based designer Feng Chen Wang. Rendered in teal and silver watercolour, inspired by the dynamic creativity of London and the rich symbolism of the Phoenix in Chinese culture as representing grace and virtue, this limited-edition model comes as part of a wider partnership that saw the designer and brand unite for a unique capsule of streetwear and a coordinating helmet.

Having already collaborated with a number of luxury designers, including Jil Sander, Dior and Proenza Schouler, as part of its 1774 initiative, German sandal maker Birkenstock has partnered with Manolo Blahnik to create a capsule collection of thoroughly blinged-up Birks. Cult silk brand Slip has partnered with Alice + Olivia to deliver a pretty in pink capsule collection. For 2022, luxury department store Browns has chosen to focus on the theme of gratitude, kicking off with a capsule of conscious tees by some of our favourite newgen designers. Created in collaboration with Bethany Williams, JW Anderson, Martine Rose, Robyn Lynch and Phipps, each designer has used the medium to explore what they’re grateful for and why. From repurposing deadstock fabric, to using only organic cotton and natural dyes, the collection platforms sustainable and conscious practices in fashion creation and consumption, providing a stylish example and leading the way within the industry. Putting your principles front and centre has never looked so good.
